Oh, Hello there!

If one more person tells us we spelled "llama" wrong, we are going to... force them to listen to this story. 
We know how to spell llama (well, at least one of us does). "We" are Jeff and Dani - the couple behind the scenes of this fun, little taco joint. 

Our journey started while working in a restaurant together. One late night after closing down the restaurant, Jeff asked Dani if she wanted to go out for a margarita after work (pretty slick, eh?). So, he took her to a delightful local dive bar, nicknamed, “Lamas”. Our shared love for Mexican cuisine and culture has been a constant theme throughout our relationship, including our marriage in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.  

 

La Mas also means “the most.” You know, because we have "the most" amazing tacos (wink). It's also how much time and effort we've put into bringing this vision to life, and how much we care about giving our customers a delightful and delicious experience.

Jeff and his long time friend and work partner, Gabriel, had an idea in 2019 to purchase, then recreate a local restaurant, My Cocina Grill (it's in Streamwood, IL - go check it out, too). Our two families joined forces and opened My Cocina Grill  5-months before COVID. After surviving that adventure, we became inspired to start something new.  Ta-da! Here we are.
